WELCOME TO AMANDA FURTICK'S MUSIC STUDIO

ABOUT

Hello! Originally from the Chicago area, I moved to Missouri in 2015 and graduated from the University of Missouri in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education and a concentration in piano performance. During my undergraduate, I was heavily involved in several collegiate choirs and operas, accompanied the MU Women’s Choir as well as individual vocalists, and taught private piano/voice lessons to students in grades K-12.

From 2019-2022, I taught Pre-K – 8 music at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School in Boonville, worked as the 6-12th grade vocal/theatre director at North Callaway R1 School District, served as conductor and pianist for Columbia Youth Choirs, and lead worship in several local churches. In addition to teaching and accompanying, I have also vocally directed with TRYPS, a local theatre troupe, and have enjoyed various performing opportunities as a soprano, such as the Southside Philharmonic Orchestra’s early baroque program and the Bach Collegium Choir. I am currently employed by Columbia Public Schools as a middle school choir director!

As someone who developed my passion for music in early middle school, I am an advocate for using music as an outlet and safe space for students while also helping them focus on the development of technique and performance.
